Scam Jam: In November, attend this free anti-fraud seminar to hear from consumer-protection experts. In Alaska, hear from AARP Alaska about "Identity Theft & Weapons of fraud" and Anchorage Police Department about "2010 Electronic Fraud Trends in Anchorage." Join BBB on Thursday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Anchorage Senior Activity Center, 1300 East 19th Ave. in Anchorage. In Oregon, the date, time and location is to be announced.
2011 Business of the Year Torch Awards: It's time to nominate those who motivate: Submit a nomination for any business—of any size—that demonstrates excellent customer service, community involvement and innovative business practices. Candidates must be submitted by Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010.
2011 Students of Integrity Scholarships: To support students who value ethics, BBB is accepting applications for $1,000 scholarships; one high school student from each state—Western Washington, Oregon and Alaska—will be awarded. Students graduating in 2011 or 2012 are eligible to apply. All submissions must be postmarked by Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010.
